I would really encourage you to read Governor Walker’s
campaign fundraising solicitation that he is sending out to potential
donors. It is long, but rather
interesting as the governor literally claims that he is the one being
demonized, vilified, castigated, and so much more.
Right now it is easy for the governor to spend his millions
of dollars on saturating the airways and our mailboxes everyday with messages
on what he wants us to hear, without being questioned on any of it.
Therefore, one of my strong desires in all of the recall
efforts is for Governor Scott Walker to have to publically debate his opponent
on the merits of his actions and his claims about his actions. Then and only then do I believe that we the
taxpaying public will ever get a chance to begin holding this governor
accountable to telling the truth as he is compelled to explain and verify his claims.
I would love to know what you, your friends, neighbors, and
co-workers think about the claims and appeals that the governor is making in the
link below. Specifically, I am curious
how the contents of this letter demonstrates any remote interest in Governor
Walker wanting to even think about bringing us back together as a state?
Sincerely,
Gary
P.S. From my perspective, Lori
Compas is truly a great person who I wish more of you in Senate District 13
could get to meet as candidate for office.
Just as Governor Walker needs to be publically debated, so does Senator
Fitzgerald.
This fundraising letter is so revealing of the manipulative way Walker has packaged himself to outsiders. The fact that he still dredges out this false claim of "paid protesters" is just ridiculously offensive to those of us who have been working to protect BadgerCare and our schools. While it's almost comical how he's whoring himself out to out-of-state funders while accusing the people who oppose him of being the ones from out of state, it's not particularly funny how he lies about Wisconsinites and his own record. I find it unconscionable how he disrespects the constituents he ignores by pretending the only reason anyone wants to recall him has to do with collective bargaining and "Big Union Bosses." This is the biggest and most frequent lie he tells, and it's clear that many people believe it. Countering that lie will be the biggest challenge in the coming weeks - it's really up to us to make sure that our friends and neighbors are aware the extent of the damage he has done to our schools, our social programs, and our economy.
